5 May 2016: National Day of Prayer

Signature Healthcare at Saint Francis to host interfaith National Day of Prayer

Signature Healthcare at Saint Francis will host an event on Thursday, May 5, at 9:00 AM to celebrate the National Day of Prayer.

Signature Healthcare at Saint Francis is operated by Signature HealthCARE, a for-profit health care provider that believes in and promotes prayer, and the Power of the Ask. Now in the sixth year, the National Day of Prayer is the largest company-wide event held on the first Thursday in May. A national healthcare movement, representatives from any and all faiths and walks of government life encapsulate a singular theme: “The Signature Nation – A Movement: ‘Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet.’ ”

A number of special guests are scheduled to attend the event, including representatives of the Christian, Jewish, and Muslim faiths, as well as residents, employees, families, and communities coming together to pray for the world around them.

“We are proud to be part of a movement that joins people of all faiths, traditions and cultures in the practice of prayer.”

At Signature’s Louisville headquarters, the company will recognize the National Day of Prayer with an interfaith celebration. Representatives from nearly a dozen religions or faith traditions will join to recite prayer together, signifying spiritual diversity, and will activate spirituality for restoration, healing, and abundance.

“We see the merging of government, business innovation, spiritual pursuits, establishing thriving communities, job opportunities, domestic tranquility, and joy for all. “Ask!” Is our theme, hope is the outcome,” said Dianne Timmering, Vice President of Spirituality and Legislative Affairs for Signature HealthCARE.

Residents and staff from Signature facilities across the Midwest, South, and Eastern United States are expected to take part in the National Day of Prayer, which will broadcast live from company headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky. Individually, on a local level, each facility will host their own unique National Day of Prayer celebrations with the goal of engaging community members beyond the walls, driving hope and healing for all.

“As a faith-based company, we are proud to host an event that brings together so many spiritual groups,” said Signature President and CEO Joe Steier. “We hope many will join us to celebrate this historic day.”
